Purpose

Hey all! (Or just me if I'm the only one to ever read this)!

My name is Danny Clark, and I am a new professional in the world of animation. I've read my fair share of blogs and listened to many a podcast about animation and other animators, and what I have noticed over the years is that all these stories are from people who were able to be picked up at top tier studios immediately after school, or they are stories from people that started in the 90s or early 2000s. While all of these stories are incredibly interesting and worth reading/listening to them, I wanted to share a story about someone who is in the industry but has had a journey fairly different than most of these people, namely myself.

It's 2015, and there are a lot more animators today, which is great, but that means a lot less of us get into those premier studios just because of how many of us there are. With so much change happening over the last 7 years in the games and animation industries, everything is so different than it used to be, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. My purpose for writing this blog is to reflect on my experiences in the world of animation and document how my journey changes over time. If anyone else ever reads this, hopefully it helps provide others a different perspective about being in the world of animation, and help prepare others for the various possibilities of the careers they pursue in this field. This will also be a bit of a word dump to help me ponder things or reflect on events and news stories.

Thanks for reading, and I'll get started right away in the next post! :D
